Propaganda of the week

This time it’s from the Sierra Club and Aron Ralston of  “127 Hours” fame. It sounds like it’s a veritable battlefield out there! It sure sounds exciting Aron,  but those of us who live here can tell you we haven’t been hearing any explosions or seen any bulldozers on the march. As for the spewing, well, never mind…

In fact it’s been pretty quiet!

Greater Canyonlands is under attack.  Gas, oil, tar sands, and uranium companies are already on the march, bulldozing and blasting apart the sandstone, spewing pollutants into the air and water, and displacing wildlife from their habitats.  As they proceed, they not only threaten to destroy one of our nation’s most special wild places, they also undermine the Greater Canyonlands’ attractive industries of tourism and recreation that create long-term jobs and drive local economic growth that outlasts a busted commodities cycle.

  1. Oh for Pete’s sake! What a melodramatic, disingenuous crock! Maybe Aron is hoping to be the new hipster poster boy for the Sierra Club since “bidder 70″ Timmy has been busy doing other things for a couple of years.
